What the Research Shows About Masks
Pamela Popper is a PhD naturopath. She is an internationally recognized expert on nutrition, medicine and health.
The following is her report after researching medical papers regarding the effectiveness of a mask in preventing transmission of viruses.
- The United States national Academy of sciences did a study with the results showing that surgical masks in community settings are not designed to protect the wearer from respiratory hazards including COVID-19.
- She found two studies that concluded that surgical masks in household settings are ineffective.
- In a hospital study which compared the effectiveness of a cloth mask to wearing a surgical mask the highest transmission rate was with a cloth mask. The transmission rate through a cloth mask is 97%.
4 a research study in South Korea comparing surgical masks to cloth masks concluded that both of these masks do not stop transmission and are useless and dangerous.
In addition, she talked about an early March research paper about the need for social distancing and wearing of masks. It was this study that governments cited several times to require these preventative actions. The study was based on transmission on ONE actual bus. What never was reported is that this very research paper was retracted.
